Team Amy and the media, part 3

Team Amy emailed recently with “great” news:

“A recent event in Des Moines was so full that Iowa Starting Line reported that “people were looking in the windows for a peek” of Amy!”

… oh no.

Team Amy never gets media right.

First it was the opinion piece, where Team Amy spun “Amy is a moderate and can win Trump moderates” into “Amy has grit.”

Then it was the Iowa poll where Amy was “picking up momentum” by hitting 3 percent in a poll. … again.

Now it’s a full event in Des Moines.

I found the Iowa Starting Line article — which Team Amy carefully didn’t link, and for good reason.

Amy celebrated her birthday at Jasper Winery. And about that winery:

“Jasper Winery offers a truly unique and stylish venue for your upcoming event. The Main Event Room can accommodate up to 150 people, and is available for weddings, receptions, corporate events, private parties, and more.”

The winery also offers an expansion tent, but the article doesn’t mention a tent. So we have 150 people, including Amy and staff, attending this event. Plus “people … looking in the windows for a peek.”

People isn’t necessarily more than two.

So 152 people, including campaign staff, attended a weekend event in the first state on the primary/caucus calendar.

Maybe a few more than 152 showed up!

… but 152 for sure.

I recently attended an Elizabeth Warren rally a few miles from here. A Thursday evening. Not a birthday party, just a rally.

Far more than 152 people.

Now, a campaign is about a lot more than one event, but the bigger issue here is that we have three emails that all mislead the reader via media reports.
